Ed-Tech Babble is written by J. Derek Larson. Derek is a husband, father, teacher and musician trying to get through this crazy life and enjoy as much of it as possible.
He currently teaches 5th grade in Southern Utah and tries to include as much technology as possible. Derek feels kids need to be taught the basics of education; Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies, with as many opportunities to include technology as possible because that is where life is headed. If teachers ignore the technology components, they are failing their students.
This blog will be used to share Derek's thoughts and feelings about technology, education, and any other types of "babble" that may come across his mind. The site will also deal with how technology can and should be used in the classroom. He will not always be right and you may not always agree with him, but it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that the "Ed-Tech Babble" has an outlet.
